I really enjoy my blogging experience because I had never had a blog before this class so, it was new for me.
On the other hand, it was really useful in terms of improving my English, reading foreign news from English speaking countries and write about it. What is more, it was a very good exercise to practice and make our brains work giving our opinion about different topics related to our tastes, our reality as a society and other culture’s reality.
Through this kind of exercises I could realize about my weakness in grammar- which is the hardest part for me in English as a second language- and I could improve my grammar skills and get a higher mark in the written part with Miss Andrea.
In addition, sometimes it was boring for me because I do not get use to have this kind of sites but I discovered that it has many applications that I did not know about it, like music and other stuff, I am not a very technological person.
One of the most interesting and fun things were the test about our personality and to write about our favorite movie because it was closer to our experience and taste. That let us express ourselves and show how we are.
Finally, I do not know if I’m going to use this when we finish classes but I have to say that it was useful and interesting to do it and we can use it with another kind of people like teenagers at school because they use to have and love sites like this one.

The fist piece of news that catches my attention was related to professions, especially doctors.
A survey said that in Great Britain male doctors earn almost the double comparing to their female colleagues. So it is very close to our reality in Chile, where females earn lees than males in the same kind of job, what is more, man and woman with identically experience and studies have different salaries.
This kind of surveys shows us that nowadays we still have huge differences because of our gender. In other words, women are discriminate and people thought that we do not have the power to negotiate about our salaries and employers do not want to hire women because of their giving birth condition.
On the other hand, women are less likely to reach high level position at work.
All things consider, this is a worrying situation. It is necessary to have equality in terms of gender as a duty for employers, today our president is a woman and things have not changed very much anyway. Maybe it is because the whole word is involved in a chauvinist society and it would be difficult to change it considering that at home the mother is guilty of his son chauvinism.
In general all news where clear to understand, but this one was the most interesting for me. About the other two that I read were related to food, one of them, was about low-fat diet (for instance, bread, pasta and rice) makes people less angry than low-carbs after one year.
The other one was about theater which was very different compared with our actors because it was full of handsome boys and pretty girls, they tend to pay attention in the image, how everything looks it could be a great play but here we have actors that have a different view about their job, something more artistic.(wwwnytimes.com)
Slumdog millionaire is a British movie, directed by Danny Boyle (the same director of Transporting, another great movie!) and it was filmed in India.
The film is about a teenager (Jamal Malik) who grew up in Mumbai in the slums. Since he was a little kid he fell in love with LatiKa, his best friend. He was always trying to catch her attention. But the unlucky man loose his girl because a man bought her to be his husband.
When he grew up he become a contestant in one of the most famous TV shows, an Indian version of “Who wants to be a millionaire?”
During the contest he was arrested because the TV presenter thought he was cheating, for this reason he was interrogated so, telling he’s story of life he was answering every question having flash backs he could explained how he could guess everything.
This movie was nominated for ten Academy award in 2008 and they won eight and four golden globes.
The movie was quite interesting, with an unknown cast which was amazing and surprised me in a good way because they were very good actors. Also the movie has beautiful landscapes and a different story which mixed lots of feelings. I really enjoy it!
To begin with, they show you some pictures about different topics and you have to choose the best one according to your tastes aswering some questions. It was really accurate with my personality and that calls my attention.
My results were funny, I'm a wild cat. This means-related to the game-that I'm honest, sociable, romantic, nostalgic, always looking for new kind of music, always seeing the funny way of life and totally open- minded, to name a few.
My results of the quiz were absolutely different from other people in the stats, but I agree with my way of see life in general.
Finally, it was great to learnt new words such as haunt, path and stats.
It was a great game!
One of the most important issue was that children have a lot of imagination, but when they grow up, this creativity to do and invent things is lost. Kids have the capacity of renovation , what is more, they do not care of being wrong, they are not scare of being ridiculous. Mr. Robinson said an important sentence: " if you are not prepared to be wrong you have never come with anything original" .
That is why adults and educated people are out of this capacity to be creative, because kids have the capacity to be whoever they want, they can be artist, musicians, but when they grow up they grow without imagination, they are involved in another way to perceive life, as we are growing we discover things that think for us, Tv, radio.
In my opinion, Mass media is a big and bad influence in our society and it makes us be less creative because they show us everything and doesn't make us think and be critics. On the other hand, people accept everything that TV said without quetioning it.

On the other hand, I like to study pedagogy because this is a big contribution and elemental tool for our next generations. What is more, English is essential to help us to express ourselves in another language and to be in touch with other cultures. That contributes to learn about traditions outside our country and to be critic and reflective when we talk about education and another topics.
English was my favorite subject when I was at school, but I know the teachers do not do their work in the sense of being a contribution to students and to explain the real meaning of studying English.
After all this, I would like to make a change in the kid’s minds to realize that all of them can improve their English or learn it if we demonstrate patient and dedication.
